This is the fifth and final feature in our Hunger Heroes series, highlighting the everyday champions working to end food insecurity across the country. From nonprofit leaders to content creators, each one is driven by the belief that every child deserves access to the meals they need to thrive.
With over 11 million followers on TikTok and more than 2 million on Instagram, chef and viral food creator Tini Younger has built a brand around food.
More Than Viral Recipes: A Platform with Purpose
After finishing as a contestant on Next Level Chef Season 2, and returning as a special guest in Season 3, Tini launched her own YouTube series, From Scratch with Tini, on Gordon Ramsay’s Bite Originals channel. In 2023, she published her cookbook, Cooking for My Boyfriend, a celebration of her 50 favorite recipes.
Now, Tini is using her platform to raise awareness about childhood hunger and encourage her followers to volunteer, donate, and speak up.
“I’m proud to be helping. I’m proud to be volunteering…I have a huge platform,” she says, “So I feel like the more people I can get out to, the more people can volunteer, donate, and then the less child hunger…the less hunger around everywhere.”

With millions of followers, Tini Younger is turning her online community into a force for good—raising awareness about childhood hunger and inspiring action through volunteering and donations.
Hunger Hides in Plain Sight
Through her social platforms, Tini is helping others understand how widespread summer hunger truly is.
“Something that’s shocking that a lot of people don’t know is that one in five kids go hungry, especially during the summertime. An average classroom has about 20–25 kids, so that’s four to five kids in each classroom going hungry, and you might not even know it.”

From sharing meals to sharing awareness, every action counts.
That’s why she encourages everyone to get involved, in both big ways and small.
“Volunteering I feel like is the biggest one because everyone always needs help… and then just word of mouth. Tell your neighbors, tell your friends, post about it. If you can’t volunteer, just post where you can donate. Post all the resources.”
