HelloFresh and City of Newark join forces to provide Thanksgiving meals
At HelloFresh, we work hard year round to ensure that everyone can enjoy a family meal—and this is especially during the holidays. This Thanksgiving, we’re proud to share that we’ve donated turkeys and sides to support some of our incredible nonprofit partners.
Second Helpings Atlanta and HelloFresh work together to package holiday meal kits
Through partnerships with the Food Bank of South Jersey, City of Newark, Department of Veteran Services, The Campaign Against Hunger, and Second Helpings Atlanta, we’re providing 55,000 meals to neighbors in need. In addition to our turkeys and sides, each meal kit also includes a recipe card with creative ideas to help recipients make the most of the fresh ingredients provided.
When asked what the kits have meant to their community, Second Helpings Atlanta said the following:

HelloFresh and Second Helpings Atlanta bring holiday meals to families through our Turkey Donation Program
In Newark, NJ, we worked alongside the City of Newark and Mayor Ras J. Baraka to distribute 1,300 turkeys and 3,000 Thanksgiving side dish kits to local residents. Here’s how the Mayor commented:
“There is an adage that the gift, the giver and the receiver are one,” Mayor Baraka said. “Here in Newark, we know the truth in this – how the lines between the three are blurred when we are united in an act of generosity. I am proud of my administration’s long-term commitment to providing nutritious food to Newark’s families, and of my brother, Chief of Staff Amiri Baraka Jr., who has assembled a network of caring volunteers who collaborate with HelloFresh. They have been distributing meals, not just on Thanksgiving, but once a week, every week, for going on five years now.”
